Captain of My Soul
Imagine bargaining with the devil. He will use every argument to make you believe you belong to him. He will say you are worthless and hopeless. He has the power to convince you to take your life away.
Some people hand over their souls. It may be through drug addictions, pornography, sexual abuse, or contemplating suicide.
Then, that is their end. They have made the devil the captain of their soul.
Don’t bargain with Satan!
He will convince you to make him your captain. Everyday Satan will attempt to speak with you. Don’t!
Imagine that in Satan’s attempt to bargain with you, you call upon Jesus and ask Him to sail your soul as He pleases. In that very moment Jesus takes the wheel and Satan loses all options. He now has to deal directly with Jesus.
…And guess what?
Jesus will only look into his eyes and the devil will flee like the coward that he is. Everyone bows to Jesus, especial Satan.
William Ernest Henley had it all wrong. We are not the masters of our fate, and we certainly aren’t captains of our soul. The gate is narrow and the punishments in the scrolls do matter.
There is no in between. You cannot be the captain of your soul, it is either Jesus’ or Satan’s; we are simply passengers in a war between God and the devil. Make Jesus the Captain of your soul!
