The Life I Did Not Choose

If it were up to me, right now I would be married, desperately in love, but my marriage would probably be a total disaster. I would either be a marginalized wife or a wife whose husband cheats on her. I would be emotionally damaged and spiritually dead. I am soooooo glad I did not get to choose. Instead, I was obedient to the voice of God and rejected those possibilities. Looking back into my life, I see God’s amazing intervention and how the Holy Spirit spoke truth about obedience in my life. When I was a teenage mother, I could have chosen to runaway to Tennessee with the wrong guy […]

My Lioness

Hey there, you who stands tall and proud. The one who does not fear, but confronts anything that comes her way. Many fear you for your physical and mental strength. Your presence rebukes your heaters and No one dears lift a finger against you. The day you come to Christ the devil himself will tremble with fear! You are a powerful woman, you are a lioness. You are the woman Jesus has created: One who does not bend before any one. Photograph by Perla Barajas One who stands firm on her believes, even if they do not yet match with God’s plans and statues. You are the one God created: The […]

Last Night

Last night I wept. My mind, my spirit, and my entire being was broken in the presence of God; primarily because I was angry at Him and secondly because I felt defenseless. My entire world almost crumbled before me and I did not know where to hide. This is a problem. Why did I not think of coming to Jesus and exposing my dilemma before Him? I let my mind and human nature consume me instead of coming to the King. Anyone would think that by now I should go to the Lord first thing, that this would be my first instinctive thought. Yes! They would be correct since I profess […]

Set Me Free from Bondage

Lord, set me free! Release me from the oppressions of this age; From fear of poverty, From greed, From personal desires. I don’t want to chase after scattered wind. Photograph by: Ana Barajas Set me free oh Lord! Release me from bondages and strongholds; From hating the people who have hurt me, From myself, From vanity, From passions within me. Jesus set me free from temptations, From the pains that still remain in me. Set me free Jesus From the unforgotten rape and the unforgotten little girl that sat in darkness. Set me free Lord! Set me free from the tyranny of this age. Set me free from this corrupted […]

Thank You…Beyond Thanksgiving Day

Today, is the day after Thanksgiving Day. Are you still grateful? I am. While some people are fearful to the universe or to another sourse, I am grateful to God the creator. The first name He uses to indroduce Himself to His people, the Jews is I AM (Ex. 3:14). Indeed he is the Great I AM. Therefore, I continue to be grateful to Him beyond Thanksgiving Day; He was, He is, and will be for all eternity: Photograph by: Ana Barajas Thank you Abba for the air that I breath. Thank you Father for my eyes, Thank you because I can see the colors of the trees; They are […]

A King: A Man of Worth

He was Beautiful. I don’t mean handsome or gorgeous, although from her perspective he was, I Mean “beautiful” as in having a beautiful heart, full of compassion and admiration for others who value truth. And all of his inner beauty transcended to his outer appearance. She said, he was Beautiful. She also spoke of many other characteristics that attributed him a Man of Worth: a King. He had spoken to her about his childhood and his struggles growing up. He shared with her the way his father beat up his mother and how he degraded him with vulgar words. He shared with her his teenage heart: “When I was young […]

When a Woman Loves a Man

I wept that night sour tears. The tormented oceans within my being drowned me. I could not breath. A second lasted a lifetime and my soul was consumed in flames. I looked within myself and then returned to the little artistic bedroom where the presence of God lingered. I cursed God and immediately repented. I clinked onto his feet once more weeping on my knees. I was the daughter of a sovereign God; one who remained faithful despite of her own desires. He stood there, watching me. He understood the pain. He was patient with my anger. He embraced it by hugging me. I wept myself to sleep on cold, wooden […]

Women of different ethnic backgrounds and different beliefs system. Women who are married, single-single women, and some single mothers: What do you consider the most important thing in a man’s character, personality and values system? What draws you to a man? What must he do to obtain your heart? What must they treat you like? Things that annoy you about a man? Things you cannot forgive about a man? What do you think about educated men vs. not? What should men dress like? This is […]

Men Want To Be Respected and Women Want To Be Loved: Part Two

What women don’t know about men! Photograph by: Ana Barajas We asked men the exact same question we asked women in part one of Men Want To Be Respected and Women Want To Be Loved. They are teenagers, twenty-somethings, and thirty-somethings. Some men are single fathers, others have girlfriends, and some are married. They are from different ethnic backgrounds and some men are Christian and others aren’t. A handful of men were hesitant to answer these question because hey believed to be too personal and others could not wait to share their heart—which I truly appreciate! What do you consider the most important thing in a woman’s character, personality and […]

Because for alot of Women it is Enough

Women have turned men into savages—luring beasts after fragile, broken women and most aren’t even aware of this. Why do most men think it’s enough to call women “beautiful” and “sexy”, or “smart” and “gorgeous”, and automatically they will open a door to them? Because for a lot of women it is enough! Photograph by: Ana Barajas A lot of women have lowered their standers far too low that it is enough for a man to call her “sweet heart”. At the sound of these words most women are ready to take off their clothes—these are the most promiscuous. At the very least, some women are ready to kiss that […]
